Which breathing techniques are included?

Box breathing (4-4-4-4), 4-7-8 (Weil), coherent breathing (5-5), and a custom builder where you set your own inhale, hold, exhale, and hold counts.

How long are the sessions?

Quick sessions are 1-3 minutes for a fast reset between meetings. Standard sessions are 5-10 minutes. Sleep sessions extend to 30+ minutes with sound that fades out.

Are the meditations guided or silent?

Both. Guided sessions use a calm voice with cue cards. Silent sessions just play breath cues and ambient sound, ideal once you have a routine.

Can I use this for sleep?

Yes. Sleep mode dims the screen, plays a long soundscape (rain, ocean, white noise, brown noise, river), and can stop at a set time.

Is this a medical app?

How to do a 1-minute box breathing reset

A fast way to drop your heart rate before a stressful moment.

  1. Open Breathe & Meditate and tap Box Breathing.
  2. Set the duration to 1 minute.
  3. Inhale for 4 seconds as the circle expands.
  4. Hold for 4 seconds at the top.
  5. Exhale for 4, hold for 4, repeat until the timer ends.

How to fall asleep with a long sleep soundscape

Use the Apple TV or Mac version on a nightstand to drift off.

  1. Open the app and pick Sleep Mode.
  2. Choose a soundscape (rain on a window, ocean waves, brown noise).
  3. Set a fade-out timer (30, 60, or 90 minutes).
  4. Lower the screen brightness via the in-app dim setting.
  5. Place the device away from your head and let it run.
