How to merge PDF files
- Drop your PDFs onto the box above, or click it to choose them.
- Drag the files into the order you want, or use the arrow buttons.
- To keep only some pages of a file, type them in its Pages box - for example
1-3, 5or8-for page 8 to the end. Leave it empty to keep every page. - Press Merge PDF. The combined file downloads straight away.
Add a single PDF and the same button extracts the pages you pick into a new, smaller file - useful for sending one chapter of a long report.
What is kept in the merged PDF
Pages are copied exactly: text stays selectable and searchable, fonts and vector graphics are unchanged and images keep their original quality. Links within a page keep working. Bookmarks and interactive form fields from the source files are not carried across, because they belong to the original document's structure rather than to the pages themselves.
If the merged file is too large to email, run it through Compress PDF next.
Password-protected PDFs
An encrypted PDF cannot be merged until its password is removed - that protection exists precisely so its pages cannot be copied out. Open it in Preview on a Mac or in your PDF reader, enter the password and export a copy without it, then add that copy here.
How your files stay private
Most free converters upload your file, process it on their server and send the result back - so a copy of it passes through somebody else's machine. This page does all of the work in your browser instead. The files you choose are read into memory on your own device, processed there and handed back as a download; none of their contents is transmitted. You can switch off Wi-Fi after the page has loaded and it keeps working.
