Split PDF

Break a PDF into separate files: every page on its own, parts of a fixed number of pages, or the exact ranges you type. Done in your browser - the document never leaves your device.

How to split

Ways to split

  • Every page - one PDF per page.
  • Every N pages - for example parts of 10 pages for upload limits.
  • Custom ranges - type 1-3, 4-10, 11- and get one file per range.
  • Extract pages - pick pages such as 2, 5-7 and get them together in one new PDF.

What is kept

Pages are copied exactly - text stays selectable and searchable, and images keep their quality. Bookmarks and form fields that span the whole document may not carry over to the parts.

How your files stay private

Most free converters upload your file, process it on their server and send the result back - so a copy of it passes through somebody else's machine. This page does all of the work in your browser instead. The files you choose are read into memory on your own device, processed there and handed back as a download; none of their contents is transmitted. You can switch off Wi-Fi after the page has loaded and it keeps working.

Frequently asked questions

How do I split a PDF into single pages?

Choose Every page and press Split PDF. You get one PDF per page in a ZIP.

How do I take a few pages out of a PDF?

Choose Extract pages, type the pages you want, for example 2, 5-7, and they are saved together in one PDF. See also Delete PDF pages.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

PDFs that need a password to open are not supported - remove the password first in the app you use to open it. PDFs that only restrict editing usually work.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened and processed by your browser on your own device. Its contents are never sent anywhere - you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps working.
