Frequently asked questions

Where do the paintings come from?

Images are drawn from public-domain and openly licensed museum collections (Met, Rijksmuseum, NGA, and others). Each painting includes attribution to the source institution.

Can I filter by artist or period?

Yes. Filter by artist (Van Gogh, Monet, Hokusai, Vermeer, and many more), period (Renaissance, Impressionism, Modern), or museum.

How does the slideshow work?

Pick a category and the app cycles through paintings on a timer you choose (15s, 30s, 1 min, 5 min). You can also pin a single painting as a static art piece.

Is information shown for each painting?

A small overlay shows the title, artist, year, and source. You can hide it for a clean wall-art look or keep it on as a teaching aid.

Are there family-friendly filters?

The default selection avoids works with explicit nudity, and there is a stricter Family filter for younger viewers.
