Frequently asked questions

Which audio formats are supported?

FLAC, ALAC (Apple Lossless), AAC, MP3, WAV, and AIFF play natively on Apple TV. DSD and very high-rate (24-bit/192 kHz) FLAC are decoded but downsampled to whatever your audio output supports.

Does gapless playback work?

Yes. Albums tagged or named so consecutive tracks belong together play without a pause. Live and DJ-mix albums are handled correctly as long as the source files have no built-in silence.

How are albums and artists organized?

The app reads ID3, Vorbis, and MP4 tags from your files. You can browse by Artist, Album, Genre, or by raw folder structure if you prefer to organize music yourself.

Will my Apple TV show album art on the screen?

Yes. Cover art embedded in the file plays full-screen with track info. If a cover is missing, the app falls back to a folder image (cover.jpg or folder.jpg) when present.

Can I send the audio to AirPlay speakers or HomePods?

Yes. Use the standard Apple TV AirPlay menu (swipe down on the Siri Remote) to send the playing audio to HomePods, Sonos, or any AirPlay 2 speakers in your home.
